It used to be the case that you had to wireshark your original Sky router to get the password - this is no longer the way.
You can simply use a string in the correct format: - whatyoulike@skydsl|12345678

That's not the correct format. Zyxel want the Hex values, as do some TP-Link devices.
TP-Link have updated some (Maybe all?) devices so they auto authenticate with Sky now.
I'd be interested to see anyone with a Zyxel device on Sky FTTC to try this.
I've never seen confirmation of the Zyxel devices working with Sky as a full modem/router, only in bridge mode.
This test could also be done while keeping another modem connected, and trying to authenticate the Zyxel as a router only.
