FTTC Cabinet expansion

Just had a new Huawei cabinet installed last week alongside existing ECI cab. As the availability on the DSl checker has never and is still not showing waiting list how do I know when Huawei is ready to place an orders

You won't be able to tell yourself unfortunately. Would need OpenReach to confirm or an engineer doing final checks.

How do I contact openreach to find out, or is it just easier to wait till I see an engineer with his head in there

The engineer won't know either. He's just there to do part of the commissioning.

Just check the checker periodically.

Check for what?  :-\ Unless the ECI fills and the checker changes to waiting list there won't be any indication on the checker.

codelook should give a rough date when expansion was anticipated, but not exact by any means.

Sorry, I misread the OP. I have no idea what can be done to guarantee a move to the Huawei in that case. Even when it's live I'm not sure whether they will start provisioning on it or fill the ECI first.
