I think if they could, they would have done it by now.  The hurdle I think isnt turning it on, as we know it will work, its the CPs who are not prepared to ride it rough temporarily whilst the incompatible modems are swapped out.

Yes, we are in agreement.  :)

Last night DLM dropped SNR to 4dB so we're getting back to normal again (thank goodness).
The 8924 doesn't sync quite as high as the Netgear 6220 did for a given SNR - seems about 2Mbps lower on average - but it's still fine.
An irritation is that it doesn't reinstate IPv6 following a resync (or warm boot), I have to manually drop the PPP session to get it back. Assume it's a bug.

I think we are all in agreement with this.   We are now nearly 4 years down the line and the vast majority of those who would benefit, are paying the price because there are a few incompatible modems still out there   >:(

I used the open source app 'telnetenable' detailed at https://oldwiki.archive.openwrt.org/toh/netgear/telnet.console.  You'll need the newer version referenced for the D6220.

Back to 3dB SNR last night
My faith in DLM is restored - but you do have to be patient, as this has taken over 3 weeks from when I swapped the router out following a fault.
