Low speed
« on: November 04, 2018, 10:40:17 PM »

Speed stuck at 42mb when I was attaining around 74mb. Router was switched off for a few months, I dont know if this is the cause or not. I've capped my speed to 20mb on a HG612 in the hope it will remove interleaving and put me back on fastpath. I've already had an engineer visit who reset the line but nothing has changed. Any advice? Thanks.

Welcome to the Kitz forum.  :)

Will you please post the output produced by the HG612 in response to --

xdslcmd info --stats
xdslcmd info --pbParams

With sight of that information, one of our more experienced members may see something to account for your current problem.

Are those speeds the results of throughput speed-tests? If so, were they performed over a wired or a wireless connection?

Capped or uncapped? Speed stats were from router.

I don't want to be presumptuous, but I'd say uncapped stats.

What firmware is the HG612 running on?
Do you have another modem?

That's some high interleaving. My initial thought with the high attainable was a vectoring issue but probably unlikely unless you have a VERY old firmware on the HG612

edit: out of interest can you run

xdslcmd info --Vectoring

Some thoughts you are interleaved that makes attainable figures higher than they should be and you are at 12db margin though so it should be capable of syncing higher.

I can't see bearer 1 so if you can get ginp/3db (ie not eci cab) that could have a decent benefit to speed when its enabled.

Also if a lot of time has passed you may also have more crosstalk especially if it was a newish cab.

Not sure what to suggest,  more experienced posters will hopefully post their thoughts also - perhaps leave it alone for several days to try to get rid of the interleave especially if you have no reported errorred seconds etc.

Never sure on massively capping the line as I can't see how the DLM knows the difference between a capped line and a possible problem line that then it starts applying "wrong" capping etc and compound the problem.

Sorted by openreach and a DLM reset.
