Welcome to the forum.

A common fault is what you are experiencing. If you are certain all is correct inside your premises, ring your internet service provider and explain exactly what you have said here, that the line is stable with the landline handset in-use.

The fault is usually a high resistance' (HR Fault), but can also be down to 'incorrect filtering' at the premises.

Thanks for the reply @Black Sheep and yes, it was proven that the fault was not inside

I do not doubt what Black Sheep is saying for a minute.

I did however have a DECT phone handset system which caused a problem with my internet connection when it went off-hook, on-hook. I fixed it with a bodge, double microfiltering it, with two microfilters, one plugged into the other, to really isolate the phone from the rest of the system. And it worked.

I don’t think this applies in your case.

I called my provider on the other day and they confirmed that fault lies on their end. Dunno where exactly it is but it was outside they said. To me I think they already saw this coming

@weaver double filtering is really hard to facilitate here. My provider installed the line with two leads (for BB and LL) are intact with the filter box. I'm from the Philippines  by the way

Have you tried with a different handset for the landline? If you are using a cordless phone it is worth trying a cheap corded phone such as this or this. It is always useful to have such a thing for diagnostic purposes (also it will work during a power cut!).
