Anyone here using a mesh wireless setup?
« on: September 19, 2018, 03:32:49 PM »

I am considering getting a mesh wi-fi set as wireless coverage in my house is poor. Currently I am thinking about Tenda MW3 Nova Whole Home Wi-Fi Mesh Router System. My main question relating to this kit in particular but perhaps others as well is how to connect it and still use my router for its wired connections. This kit seems to want to connect to a modem and do the WAN stuff itself. If that is the case not only with this model but others it means running one router as modem only and a second as a switch. (I do have several routers so that is not the issue).

Just to complete the story I have actually gone for the BT Whole Home Wifi setup. Although it is more expensive it does have 1 gigabyte Lan connection on each of the 3 units. Having it now setup I now have seamless connection throughout the house. It only works just like a separate wireless router, unlike many others which can connect to a modem and do the PPPOE stuff.
