Auto correct on iPad Pro

(1/2) > >>

Weaver:
I just wish that I could stop autocorrect on my iPad from doing stupid things such as choosing nit instead of not. I don’t want to turn it off as I do find it valuable, but it creates so much trouble that its value is almost outweighed by the downside of having to correct things all the time.

I don’t suppose there is any way of teaching it rules or forbidding certain things? Such as forbidding nit, for example?

I really hate the virtual keyboard on the standard iPad post ios11. It is clever I suppose, but the problem is that I am now too used to the straightforward keyboard of the iPad Pro.

it is "supposed" to learn your common mistakes and what they get corrected to.

[OT] Since getting an Android phone I've been very impressed with the way the keyboard handles spelling with it not automatically changing things but showing the suggestions above which you can select. I also like that it spots the 'fat fingers' issues where the miss-spelling is because you have hit an adjacent letter.
