I didn't think ECI cabs supported xdB hence assume 6dB is the target?

Yes, correct.

It's actually been 4db for a day or so until about 30 minutes before my post it's the interleave depth I'm curious about

It's actually been 4db for a day or so . . .

You circuit synchronised with the target SNRM of 6 dB, then one (or more) nearby crosstalker(s) "appeared" depressing your SNRM.

Hmm . . . From 1 to 861 is a large jump.  :-\

INP: 3.00 is the important figure.   This is low interleave/error protection.
I can only assume that running the line at 4dB caused an increase in errors which attracted the attention of DLM to apply interleaving :(

ETA  just seen this from your stats when running at 4dB    :'(

Quote
ES/hour:                   2560

That will be why you have interleaving applied and why your speed has decreased.

Quote
ES/hour:                   488      2391

The above doesnt look good either, but in theory that should decrease now interleave has been applied.    If not and your line is still continuing to error it may be good reason to get your ISP involved again.

Did you get those stats from DSLstats?   It may be worthwhile checking some of the graphs such as SNRm & errors.

That will most likely be when a neighbour temporarily goes off line and reduces the crosstalk affecting your line. If you reboot during this period you will probably get an increased connection speed, then when the crosstalk returns, your SNRM will drop to ~3 to 4 dB. Whether your connection remains stable is in the lap of the gods.

This is exactly what happened.
Some lines can manage 3, 4 or 5dB SNRM without G.INP.
It seems your line can't.

Quote
ES/hour:                   2560

The maximum ES allowed per day is either 1440 or 2880 (depending on the ISP's chosen DLM policy).
You smashed through that.

It make take anything from a few days  to a couple weeks for DLM to remove the INP+Interleaving.

If your line is anything like mine (and many others) it won't go back to fastpath (no interleaving) on its own.
I had to manually cap my line to get error figures low enough for DLM to put my line on fastpath.

Thanks for the advice guys!

The errors seemed to have stabalized now SNR gone back down to 4db again though.

Will have a proper look when I get home from work later

Thanks

In my experience you need under 20 ES per day for DLM to remove interleaving.
Even that wasn't enough for my line and I needed single figure ES/day.

You may be best resyncing the line to get it back to 6dB for better stability and to eventually get back the speed lost to interleaving.

It sounds very much like you have a neighbour who turns their modem off for hours at a time.
If your line resyncs during this period then as soon as their modem syncs again your SNRM drops to 4dB.
This has caused the line to be interleaved and will probably prevent interleaving being removed.

I'm going to do a resync later but hoping my SNR goes back up to 6db before hand as I don't want to lose any more speed

Definitely looking better on the ES but not sure I want to do a resync with those SNR values?

I can see my line sync dropping to about 35Mbps,

You have 0 ES/hour so looks like 4dB is ok with interleaving.

If you are using DslStats it would be better you post the stats from the Telnet Data > Connection Stats tab.
The stats posted above are missing many details that help us see how your line is performing.

If you are worried about the huge size of the stats you can place them within the [code]  tags. It's the # box above the reply box.
It really doesn't matter though :)

edit: tag fail. forgot the nobbc tag
