3dB SNR - how to achieve?

So, how about for the 6 year old FTTC line that is on 6dB - can that be ever made to run at 3?
Does the effect of interleaving go away? I was hoping for two identical 57Mb lines at least.

Just to say I had a second FTTC line installed on a Huwaei cab a few months ago (about 150m to cabinet). Initial max attainable was about 77Mbit/s, with a line rate of about 67Mbit/s. This lasted about 44 hours, and then the line resynced itself and the line rate jumped to match the max attainable.
It's slowly improved since then, and I now get a line rate of 79999, matching my first line.

Mine has done exactly the same overnight! I now have two lines at ~57000. With load balancing via pfSense, I can now download at about 112-113Mbps in real terms in Windows.
I learned on Friday when the lady from BT came and fitted the 2nd PSTN line that I am ~600M from the cabinet because the underground access point runs 100M in the wrong direction to the cabinet... I'm going to let my two modems run for now and hope that the SNR does indeed drop to 3dB. From my calculations there's no reason the 2nd line shouldn't reach 78Mb if the SNR were to drop accordingly.

3dB is worth roughly 11Mb if your line makes good use of the D3 band. Probably less if not
Never in a million years will you see 21Mb improvement with a reduction to 3dB.

My maths were fag packet on the basis of seeing 1dB when reducing rate from 57000 to 50000 - so yeah - would be nice.
BT checker claims line should be 70.7Mb, maybe that more realistic?
