DHCP and Alexa
« on: September 10, 2018, 02:22:16 AM »

I have had a few problems with my Alexa devices losing 5g connection and disappearing from my Asus router clients list. I have now changed the DHCP settings for these 3 devices to manual which means they shouldn't need to renew after 24 hours. Is my thinking right as they now come up in the client list as manually assigned permanent IP devices.

I have several devices with manually assigned IP addresses, chosen from outside the range of DHCP assigned addresses to avoid possible future conflicts. It works well for me.
