Images - .jpeg
« on: September 01, 2018, 09:12:59 AM »

Would it be possible to allow attachments with the extension .jpeg as well as .jpg?

I think that is the choice that the Apple photos library makes when it generates a source file name as part of the upload process and the forum software hates that extension.

.jpeg is actually the correct and orginal extension format.
it was only changed to .jpg because windows only supported 3 letter extensions.

macs never had that limit, hence why they still use the original extension format.

The following file formats are supported by default:

.jpg or .jpeg : bitmap image compressed in the standard JPEG format (this lossy format is most suitable for photographs).
.png : bitmap image in the Portable Network Graphics format (specified by the W3 Consortium).
.gif : bitmap image in the legacy Graphics Interchange Format.

Try now.

Although the SMF help files says .jpg or .jpeg by default, it wasn't...  but I have been able to add it manually.
