It's cabinet 19 in Hemsworth which to be honest doesn't seem like it'd be high up on any priority list.

But alas something out of the ordinary has appeared.

Thank you. MYHMW_P19 is duly noted.  :)

From the access I have, all I see is a bog-standard capacity upgrade involving further copper ties.

The job was only planned late December 2017, so would maybe fit with the timeline involved in costing, acceptance, putting noticing in, getting a date for the contractors, etc .... ???

Sorry for lack of detail.

Thanks for having a look.

So it’s more than likely a new type of copper extension cabinet and unless they start digging again to install a copper pod or someone has seen one before and knows what it is then we are none the wiser.

We have a fair few of the copper extension pods around here  none of them look like this one, as I’ve said before at least this one looks nice I suppose.

Maybe j0hn has better vision of what is happening with this particular Cab ?? I have to admit, I have never seen one with that kind of 'lock' before .................... on either g.fast pods or copper expansion pods ??

Might be a local security 'thang' ??

I restate my assertion that the add-on pod, so-pictured in the opening post to this thread, contains active electronics (not made by Huawei) and is, indeed, a G.Fast (ITU-T G.9700/9701) pod.  :)
