Is there any images of those cabs with the door shut?
Sadly not, at least when I use search terms such as "nokia g.fast pod" and "nokia g.fast dslam" on Google. :( I haven't browsed extensively but most relevant stuff usually surfaces.

I’ve been trying too thanks for the assist  :)

Looking into the performance of these pods and hoping that Nokia is better than Huawei.

I will throw my hat in to the ring and say I think it's not a G.Fast pod. Purely a guess though.

Just about every pod that we've seen photos of in the wild have been Huawei's.

Could that be because all of those that _I_ have seen tend to be where the PCP's twins are Huawei FTTC?  Yes I know the 2 are independent.
Has anyone looked closely at any photos of g.fast pods in ECI areas?   I ask because around here there is zilch g.fast where there are ECIs

btw Nokia call them ISAMs (not DSLAMs) if that helps anyone searching.

The ISAM in that Nokia photo is an Alcatel Lucent 7363 ISAM MX6

See enlarged and magnified image below...   which then leads me to this 7363 ISAM MX-6(ETSI)

...  which has exactly the same wording and specs as

Quote
The Alcatel-Lucent 7363 Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM) MX-6 is a high capacity, modular micro-node is designed to support voice, DSL and point to point services.

S.Stephenson, I can see that you've also made a topic at thinkbroadband (http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/fibre/f/4598387-new-type-of-gfast-pod-or-copper-extension.html). I sometimes lurk on various other forums, so I thought I'd drop the link here

It looks like one based on the vent placement and the shape of the cabinet but it’s hard to be sure without seeing the outside of the Nokia ISAM.

Even if it is one it’s the only one installed in this area right now so it’ll end up taking them years to enable the thing.

Also Nokia says they are the leaders in G.Fast so maybe they are repaying me for the many years of ECI I have endured.

Having just compared the images, I'd tend to agree.
Theres no recess in the door for the locking mechanism if it was a g.fast pod.    Just the Allen hex type screws.   I'm aware that some cabs may not get the locking mechanism until they are live, but even if you look at the way the door is hinged - theres not room for one.

The top of the Nokia pod has 90 degree angles, the one in S.Stephenson's are shaped more to 45 degree.

That picture comes from an article that was posted on 14th March 2017. Perhaps they may or may not have used it in builds, but a later article from Openreach themselves (http://news.openreach.co.uk/pressreleases/openreach-selects-huawei-and-nokia-to-support-its-fibre-first-programme-2576879) mentions the Nokia ISAM FX-16 in the Product Links (about midway down the page), and the link takes you to a page about the 7360 ISAM FX (https://networks.nokia.com/products/7360-isam-fx-shelf). I understand that they could have used different versions in the network.

Anyway, I am just posting what I find. It's not that it has any bearing on the current situation. Plus, I have found myself in a situation where I know I am not experienced enough (and certainly not qualified) to really make a worthwhile comment.

Thing that seem strange somewhat is that copper expansion pods have been added quite recently to other cabinets in the exchange area and none of them look like this one.

I have to say if it is just a copper expansion pod they look nicer than the older ones.

I'm not certain but:

The MX's are listed under their FTTx copper portfolio.
Whilst the FX's are listed under FTTH - Fibre portfolio.

Looking again at that Openreach article it does say they will using the Nokia ISAM FX-16 for FTTP from July 2019

That's probably right. I didn't find anything in reference to DSL with the FX-16. :(

That right hand side unit is not an extension for copper pairs. It contains active electronics. Take a closer look at the top lock surround --

That’s some csi level stuff right there  :D

I take it that it has some weird lock somewhere hidden, maybe inside the PCP.

So without seeing inside it at present it could be anything but it’s a bit more likely to be some new unseen gfast pod type.

I tried tweeting Openreach Help but they said gfast comes from the exchange and not the cabinet so I’m inclined to pay very little attention to anything they said on Twitter.

You could, if you so wished, disclose the exchange area in which that primary cross-connection point numbered 19 is connected.

Then, maybe, Black Sheep might be able to look it up in the network records and see if anything new is documented.
