Plusnet Hub One
« on: August 09, 2018, 10:28:39 PM »

It's now believed and proof that all plusnet hub one router with software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 isn't G.INP support.

My mate been testing two routers: Billion 8800NL get stats of 79999K with BT IP Profile of 77.35Mb with G.INP Enabled and Plusnet Hub One get stats of 79903K with BT IP Profile of 77.34Mb without G.INP both connected to Huawei cabinet (large one 288)

So, I don't know why is Plusnet Hub One will never get G.INP Enabled? Some peoples on plusnet forum say yes it does support it, some say no it doesn't support it.

I did try my Plusnet Hub One and got these stats screenshot below that it doesn't support G.INP Enabled. Sync Rate 77735K get BT IP Profile of 75.24Mb (if it was G.INP Enabled it would be a Sync Rate of 77816K) then went back to Billion 8800NL and this time get Sync Rate of 75964K with BT IP Profile of 73.45Mb with G.INP Enabled.

Wow, I took out Netgear DG3700 Fibre Router from the loft and try it out. It's appear this router broadcom chipset are lots better than Billion 8800NL router, TP Link router and Plusnet Hub One.

The sync rate has shoot up higher now with IP Profile 76.27Mbps. And I think INP has changed from 49 to 38 with interleaved depth 8 if I were correct from the stats below:

Before on Billion 8800NL Router:

Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 11.9 0.0
Signal attenuation (dB): Not available on VDSL2
Attenuation rate (kbps): 79920 27465
Connection speed (kbps): 77788 19999
SNR margin (dB): 6.5 15.1
Power (dBm): 12.4 0.9
Interleave depth: 8 1
INP: 49.00 0
G.INP: Enabled Not Enabled

Before on Plusnet Hub One Router:

Downstream Upstream

8800NL (BCM63168) vs PN Hub One (VRX268) vs DGND3700v1 (BCM6368).

What proof do you have that G.INP isn't supported on the Hub One? I can see from the IP profile calculation that it does not seem to be enabled, but I am pretty sure PN Hub One and modems that use the same Lantiq chipset support (being the key word here) G.INP on the downstream just fine (not upstream). I sometimes take time away from this stuff and forget, so I could be wrong.

All I can see are some minor variances. Nothing significant at all; everything is within a tight margin of each other. I personally wouldn't keep messing with it since you're only going to do more harm than good. I personally wouldn't advise you to use the PN Hub One if you care about your line.

Do you mind me asking what your aim would be of this experiment? Are you still trying to get back full sync?

The Plusnet Hub One (A rebadged BT HH5A) absolutely does support G.INP.

In fact it supports it on both the downstream and upstream (if supporting firmware is out is another matter, the hardware does it though).

Quote
Before on Plusnet Hub One Router:

Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 11.2 13.1
Signal attenuation (dB): 11.2 13.0
Attenuation rate (kbps): 78264 26077
Connection speed (kbps): 77735 19999
SNR margin (dB): 6.1 15.0
Power (dBm): 12.4 1.0
Interleave depth: 8 1
INP: 49.00 0
G.INP: Not Enabled Not Enabled

Despite it saying G.INP not enabled, those INP figures confirm it is on.

edit: max... The Plusnet Hub One is not Broadcom based so the IP profile is not exactly the same % as Broadcom modems.

https://kitz.co.uk/adsl/IPprofile.htm:

It has been proven in March 2016 that these exact figures do not work with Lantiq based devices (such as the ECI modem/HH5A) - regardless if you are on a Huawei or ECI cabinet.

Oops, that was an oversight me too...  :-X
