Get together with a group of neighbours, and it might even be worth the investment.

They are good at selling there product, but there claims I would take with a pinch of salt :(  .

I have done experiments with running engines on different fuels in the past, yes most engines will run on alcohol fuels but if they are not designed for it serious damage will soon start to happen , eg. burnt valves / pistons / plugs etc. .!. (Also same with using recycled chip oil ! ).

There is a Monsieur here who has been testing diluted fuel  on two vehicles, with some  considerable success  ... I've forgotten the ratio of petrol and water ....  but I'll keep you posted   8)    There have also been trials of rape seed oil fuel running the refuse collectors vehicles in certain region as well ....and I THINK one Department has given the go ahead for it to go on general sale for a trial.     They make industrial fuel from the left overs from the grapes  ...  if that went on sale would everyone be 'drink driving'  ?     :-X >:D

There has also been reports that although it may be cheaper it's not very environment friendly.

Originally the car was designed to run on alcohol and not petrol.
It was only the abolition of alcohol that meant the Americans had to find an alternative fuel, hence the use of petrol.

My late father worked for Rolls Royce (aircraft ) during WW2, and when I was young I was always intrigued with him telling me about the spitfire and other petrol engined planes using water/alcohol fed into the engines on take off and when they wanted boost power.
So when I had my first car I set about trying various idea's and different amounts of water and water alcohol mixtures it looked like I had a steam engine under the bonnet on a cool day with steam coming out of the exhaust pipe.    ;D

I've currently got two gallons of gin to dispose of (don't ask!). I wonder whether I could use that in the car. :)

Just thought I would just bring this topic a little bit back on topic.
(before you boozy lot get drunk with envy of Eric/roseways' 2 gal of Gin).

Actually I found it quite an interesting read, especially when you realise that the cooking oil or fat is not being modified in any way at all, apart from a heater to keep it liquid.
And as for filtering it, one guy doesn't even filter it.

I used to hate being stuck behind a car/van using LPG fuel because the smell was always terrible.
So what would it really be like behind a Fat Burner?

OF,
Within a couple of miles you would be salivaring (Slavverin') all down your jumper and looking for the nearest fish and chip shop.
