Hello from the Black Country
« on: August 01, 2018, 08:52:20 PM »

Hello,
Yes the Black Country, it's in the Midlands area of England UK if your'e not familiar. Sort of north and slightly west of Birmingham and roughly bordered by Walsall and Wolverhampton. So called because of the smoke and grime that filled the sky from mines and blast furnaces in the Industrial Revolution.

I'm enbarrased to say until today I'd never heard of Kitz so apologies to all :( I'm one of those people who does the annual runaround looking for phone, broadband, tv, gas, electric etc because if you stay with one supplier you will get ripped off. At the moment I'm on Sky Fibre which is ok (ish), I'm getting about 45Mbps on a good day so can't complain but joined Kitz for hints and tips.
Thanks.

Welcome ..... and thanks for the potted history on the 'Black Country's' origins. I wasn't aware of that regarding the smoke and grime ??  :)

Although I was born in Derby, I grew up on a farm in Staffordshire, on the edge of the moorlands, a few miles from Alton Towers. My father’s family was in Staffordshire, my mother’s family were from around Matlock roughly, and all my cousins are in Derbyshire. I have been living in Skye for twenty years this month.

Welcome to the forum, most of my family on my mum's side is from the midlands and my dad was stationed at Cosford during the war. How he met my mother.
