Pi
« on: July 24, 2018, 11:04:36 PM »

I've been using the web server on my NAS box for some small projects I've been tinkering with but have recently found that it doesn't support recent enough versions of MySQL and php for something I want to run. I'm therefore considering a Pi and have some questions. I'd go for the 3B.

If I enable NFS on the NAS box I think I should be able to mount shares and then use those on the Pi which would I think reduce the wear on the SD card. It would also make backups easy as they would be included in my normal NAS backup. I'd run DSLstats as well as other applications on this. Would I be able to have the MySQL data files on a NAS share and would that run OK (both connected to a switch by Ethernet)?

Are the standard Pi cases wall mountable? If not can anyone recommend one?

I'm sure I'll have more questions the further I look in to this!

Most of them I would say, with some velcro.
