Does a factory reset change the firmware?
« on: July 17, 2018, 11:18:42 AM »

I'm thinking of factory resetting this home hub 6 as the time before it reboots is becoming less and less. It started off at 14 days, now it's down to 9 days.

I've had firmware updates along the way.

So if I factory reset the device will it go back to the original firmware or will it keep the current one?

A factory reset just sets the configuration back to the default. You can (and probably should) perform it when the device is not connected to the internet, so it won't download anything as part of the reset.

It will keep the latest firmware, indeed it is good advice to factory reset each time you get a firmware update to ensure it is fully initiated.
