I'm glad Pangur Bàn is getting used to his new pack members now.

Today was a very major day for him. Was curled up with Caoimhe and Somhairle together all in a huddle, even with his nose touching Somhairle. Caoimhe went out and caught a mouse for Pangur Bàn this morning, never been seen to catch anything before, came back in and dumped it for him. Somhairle has been running around playing with a Pangur Bàn properly tonight. I had hardly dared hop, given the yowling and swearing last Tuesday, but day 6 has been marvellous.

Just purrfect.  ;)

In terms of decreasing age is it Somhairle, Caoimhe and then Pangur Bàn ?

Caoimhe is now 7 years old. Somhairle is about 9 months - one of the pair of kittens we got in January and whose brother Oiśn was killed a few weeks ago. Pangur Bàn is a tiny thing I am not sure, maybe three or four months old so so. And we have our two older girls “The Sàsaigs” Beileag and Buidheag who are 9 years old but very youthful. Buidheag is a tremendous hunter. Beileag does not hunt but plays on the cat poles and terrorises Caoimhe - it used to be the other way around.

Caoimhe is now 7 years old. Somhairle is about 9 months . . .

Thank you. For some reason I had remembered it the wrong way round.

It all gets very confusing. I will post up pictures of the entire family. The two oldest cats, the non-orientals, the Sàsaigs, are not mentioned so much as they just do their own thing and don't hang about with me constantly.

I have lost old Tiddy Puss, the orange cat who was over 19 years old this January and Caoimhe’s beautiful twin brother Fergus died last summer which has left Caoimhe devastated as she has no one to play with constantly.

As of day 8, the boys are playing together properly, racing about. Day 9 and they are running and patting at each other on either side of a large curtain. Caoimhe meanwhile is being maternal with little Pangur Bàn still. Beileag looks at Pangur Bàn and smiles. Buidheag has not been seen by me today, out hunting in the sunshine.

As John has said . . . make use of YouTube and then display it, here in the forum, by wrapping the link with a pair of tags.

As an example, provides --

Thank you so much! I just never thought about YouTube. Although I use it a lot, I have never ever posted anything to it.

So here are the two kittens Somhairle (large) and Pangur Bàn (tiny), finally in harmony, cuddled up together

Thank you for the video clip. The mutual grooming clearly shows that they are happy together.  :)

I have always assumed the bigger the ears, the easier it is to detect a rodent.

Caoimhe actually caught a mouse for the second time and brought it onto my bed to eat it in front of Pangur Bàn. His arrival has restored her spirit after the death of her brother Fergus a year ago. She is taking an interest in life and has never ever done any mousing until last week.

Caoimhe's teaching Pangur Bàn the job description ... taking freshly caught mice to owners :) :)
