LR-VDSL trial

BT did an LR-VDSL2 trial in a couple of areas. One was in the Isle of Lewis. Whatever happened? Did they decide to expand the whole thing? Any reason why not, apart from not being ready to get rid of ADSL2 in some places?

I remember reading about trials, and then them been abandoned because of the impossibility of been able to shut down adsl services to make them work. (probably ofcom conflict of interest)
