Vodafone End-of-Contract Offer
« on: June 07, 2018, 11:24:37 PM »

I finished my 18 months with Vodafone recently.  I honestly thought the next thing I'd get would be a "now you're out of contract, your bill will double" letter... but no!

I got a call from them offering my existing package for 30pm with the first month free on a new 18-month contract.

When I signed up a year-and-a-half ago, I was paying 36 -- 28 for 76Mbit broadband and phone line, plus 8 for 24/7 free calls to UK landlines and mobiles.

That crept up to 40 by the last two months of the contract, so being offered the same for 30 was actually very much appreciated.

(it would actually have been 29, but they're charging an extra 1 for Caller ID).

Just thought I'd mention it incase others are in a similar position.
Vodafone Landline+FTTC: Huawei DSLAM, HG612 modem, pfSense router, Ubiquiti access points. GigE home LAN with Netgear ProSafe switches. Mac, FreeBSD and Win10.

I hope you save that 1/month from October 2018. Ofcom has decreed that CallerID should be free from then.
