So just set a static ip for thr linksys? And linksys gives ip address to wireless devices via dhcp?

Will that affect the wifi devices that connect to the linksys?

I'm a bit confused now. Do you have two DHCP servers running - the Zyxel for wired and the LinkSys for wireless?
I assumed (dangerous I know!) that the Zyxel was doing all of the DHCP work and the LinkSys was acting as a simple access point (AP). In my setup my AP has only a single static IP for its management interface and the connected devices are allocated addresses by my router.

I used a Velop system for 2 years with a Zyxel 8924 before moving it to the folks house and it must be set up in Bridge mode if you're using the ethernet switch on your Zyxel for stuff. It should ask this during the setup wizard or if already set up use the app and go to Advanced Settings, Internet Settings and change it to Bridge mode.

Yes the reason im not using velop in ap mode or bridge mode is because then i cannot use most of the features that velop has like parental controls and device priorities

I have put it back to original setup and this time i have set static ip to the velop from the zyxel admin page

Its ok so far. Going to see how it runs

But if you are using those things then why not put the Zyxel into bridge mode?  You shouldn't be using the LAN ports on the Zyxel if you are using the Velop as the main router.  At least not without changing the Zyxel configuration so its not broadcasting its LAN on the ports not connect to to the Velops WAN port.

In this configuration you should have Zyxel in Bridge mode, and attach a standalone switch for devices like your desktop to the second ethernet port on the base of the 'master' Velop (the one connected via Ethernet to the Zyxel).

Can anyone confirm what the correct vdsl settings are for this zyxel modem
Just want to make sure i have the correct ones.
After reading aroubd there is slight variations
Some people have ticked apply as gateway and some haven’t
And some have different vlan settings

Using it on Bt infinity 2 80/20

Not sure where you have seen that, the VDSL settings are standard for all Openreach network connections.  If its working in router mode, they don't need changing.
