Problems connecting to a banking site

(1/7) > >>

renluop:
I am having problems with an on line bank, trying to generate a temporary password for one forgotten.
The current difficulty is that their system recognised me once, but then took a long time to supposedly provide a part of the new temporary word. That failed as a connection could not be made with advice to check proxies etc.
Now to really confuse me I am getting
--- Code: ---This site can’t provide a secure connection
secure.******.co.uk sent an invalid response.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
--- End code ---
and of course my security (Avast/ Billion8800nl firewall) won't let me connect.

Of course I shall contact by phone, but would like, please, some advice how to deal with such a problem as this.

Chrysalis:
why havent you named the bank?

broadstairs:
Well I would not try to get round that error, I'd call them first. If a bank cannot negotiate a secure connection then dont trust them until they do.

Stuart

renluop:
@ Chrysalis because my financial affairs like yours are confidential. :)
@ broadstairs I did say that
--- Quote ---Of course I shall contact by phone,
--- End quote ---
to make thread not just about the specifics. :)

Chrysalis:
Well I Cant diagnose if you not even willing to name the bank.
