Has anybody came across an [OD501] error?
« on: May 22, 2018, 10:03:44 PM »

I've recently signed up for G.fast contract and the synch speeds are not even reaching the handback threshold.

As this was an engineer install am I correct in thinking that the clean line rates should apply rather than impacted?

I have raised a phone line fault based on this from the ISP:

Problem Explanation: [OD501] OR test has failed and Appointment Required.
Resolution/Recommendation: Please report fault to BTW for OR investigation.

Thoughts anybody?

No idea what lies behind your issue, but regarding the OD501 code ..... it is what it is, and exactly how you have shown it in your post above.

There are lots and lots of codes, for example OD502 is -Problem Explanation: OR test has failed and Appointment Not Required.  Resolution/Recommendation: Please report fault to BTW for OR investigation

You will see that an appointment is NOT required with this, as opposed to one being needed on the OD501. It would suggest an issue may lie within the house, perhaps ???

Yes, I would expect so.

Would you please describe what was done for the Engineer install, the type of NTE5 & SSFP that would have been fitted and the CPE you have in use.

Were you provided with an Openreach branded Huawei MT992 modem or an ISP/CP device?

The last question: Who is your ISP/CP, please?

Thanks both, there's not a lot inside the house apart from a single master socket replaced as described below.

The engineer installed a new NTE5C with a MK4 Voice/DSL front plate and provided a Huawei MT992 Modem.

The ISP is Green ISP and BT provide the phone line.

Thank you for providing those details.

I would definitely expect that the "clean line rates" apply and that Openreach should be investigating the problem.
