Tags on the line - MTBE and Retrain data
« on: May 22, 2018, 12:08:13 PM »

I'd never come across this until it was mentioned in another thread, but Tags on the Line gives additional info versus the usual dslchecker link: http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/totl.input

Of most interest (to me!) are MTBE and retrain data.  Does anybody know what this relates to - i.e. is it the previous day?  It doesn't seem to correspond to my modem data for yesterday where I had a very "noisy" day and hit a downstream MTBE of around 200...but TotL shows MTBE of 1630...  Unless it takes account of wide-area events?  Or it's just wrong!

Unfortunately you need a login to be able to use it, by the looks of it.

I just entered my phone number and it seemed to work fine.

Odd, when I go there it asks me for a login first.

Is anyone else able to access the website?

EDIT: Nevermind it seems to be asking for a phone number now, must be something else causing that.

EDIT 2: Entered phone number and now it's asking me to login again, strange.

http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/totl.input

I've tried it on two different PC's, it's still asking me to login. I don't know why it's not asking either of you to login :(.

Hmm...the first time I accessed the site, I'd Googled "tags on the line"...and it looks like the first hit contains someone's login details.  As the login screen has a warning about unathorised access, it's probably better not to access it....

Just noticed this too, possibly an oversight somehow that ended up on Google. I clicked on that once but won't touch it anymore now I realise.

It gets my MTBE pretty accurate.
0 ES everyday on the downstream, MTBE is 86385.

Upstream MTBE doesn't match any day of the past 7 days.
It matches 11am yesterday till 11am today

Isn't it risky using that without permission? :P
