Hi All,
I walked past the site of my ECI DSLAM a couple of weeks ago and noticed Openreach were installing a new Huawei DSLAM.
Given I've had loads of issues with banding, interleaving, etc over the years with my line I decided to ask Openreach if they'd move my line to the new cabinet.
Unsurprisingly, the initial response was No. It was then followed up with another e-mail saying that if I ordered a new line and fibre service then they would ensure that it was connected to the Huawei. They said the go live date of the cabinet is end of June.
I'm currently a few months into an 18 month contract with PlusNet. However, they wrote to meat the end of April saying they were increasing prices, and if I wanted to cancel my contract as a result then I could. I just have to do it within 30 days of the e-mail, and giving them 14 days notice.
So I'm wondering if I have a window of opportunity here to move cabinet. However, what I really don't want to do is have a period of time where we have no broadband at the house, as that would make me distinctly unpopular at home!
Any thoughts/suggestions on what options I have here? Is it worth asking Plusnet to create a new line and cease the old one?
Many Thanks...
