Small server

Does anyone know of any PC that is physically very small and which I could install a Microsoft server o/s on, has to be Intel or AMD recent high-end processor, like a Skylake or something, not an Atom. Like an Intel x64 equivalent of a Raspberry Pi. And I would want to run it ‘headless’ too. ?Just wondering about feasibility of such a thing.

Take a look at the Intel NUC range,  they are very small so don't expect to get much storage in them.

However you will need to very for yourself that your chosen OS is compatible as I found this.

Does anyone know where I can find out the exact instruction set that is supported by Intel processor model x? For example I can see one NUC box for sale on amazon.co.uk that has a ‘Celeron’ brand processor (huh) and looking it up I see the part number is a Goldmont micro architecture CPU, but it’s not so easy to see the exact instruction set that supports. I want to do some assembler language stuff on it, that’s why I ask, and I want to play with some of the recent additional instructions.

I purchased an i5 NUC a couple of years ago, and it's been great, had to purchase a different top to gain some more USB ports though.

Scan Computers has lots of different ones listed, and speciffically state the CPU version used, so easier to check stuff

You'll notice there is two different heights, the smaller ones only take M2 drives, where as the taller ones have space for a 2.5" drive and an M2 generally, but check the specs.
