Currently listed on eBay is a
WG Access Service Analyzer.
Attempting to find any details about it has proved it to be almost impossible. After an extensive search, all I could find was the following description --
Analyzer for testing local access telephone lines
and subscriber loop, QoS evaluation on
subscriber loop (Network Termination Point),
Transmission, Signalling and Dialing testes. [sic]
When looking at the various images, that of the rear edge provides a few details --

WG ASA-200
12V 2.5A DC
BS6305 Complex
Imp: 600 Ohm BN4563/00.09
Access Service AnalyzerNotice that both the
"Aux" and
"Line" are 6P6C modular sockets.
The British Standards document BS6305 (1992) is just --
General Requirements for apparatus for connection to public switched
telephone networks run by certain public telecommunications operators.
The BT
SIN 351 (BT Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN): Technical Characteristics Of The Single Analogue Line Interface) and
SIN 352 (BT Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN): Technical Characteristics Of The Multi-Line Analogue Line Interface) are based on BS6305.
Both SINs clearly mention the word
"Analogue" but that brief description of the ASA-200 (which I have quoted above) seems, to me, to imply ISDN telephony.
So to my query: Has anyone ever used, or has knowledge of, such a device that they could share, please?
