I have attached a file listing the output of every CLI-accessible command I could think of.

Could anyone help me intercept some of them? I'm sure the standards documents will help me but it's sometimes difficult to match the terminology up.

Thanks go to kitizen G.dmt for providing the basis for this.

* Is this CLI at all like any other better-known modem?

* I haven't seen how to find out the G.Dmt framing parameters as in G.992.3 section 7.5, does anyone know where I might find these?

* I think I see that the ATU-C is being identified as b5 0 42 44 43 4d a3 a7 ? - if so, does anyone know what mfr/model that is?

[See attached]

That seems to be an empty document.

Yes, that's fine now. I'm not competent to answer your question, but I'm sure someone who is will be along shortly.

This lot, for example, is incomprehensible to me, I wonder if G.DMT has worked it out.

wan dmt msg_ra
max allowed margin 31
min required margin 0
new min required margin 6
c_msgsra_min_snr_margin=6
crc_ra2=755f,crc_ra2_cal=755f
r_msgra_r=0
r_msgra_k=146
r_msgra_ncloaded=161
r_msgra_lp_attenu=127
r_msgra_coding_gain=0
r_msgra_perf_margin=6
r_msgra_dmax=64
r_msgra_bmax=1168
dn_snr_margin 2304

I am guessing there may be some info about G.DMT framing parameter values in that lot.

Considering the mystery of the runes b5 0 42 44 43 4d a3 a7 mentioned earlier, that is not in Kitz’s list at https://kitz.co.uk/adsl/linestats_explanation.htm

CORRECTION - Kitz does have it, buried in the middle of that string so I didn't spot it

So NSBFD exchange or wherever is presumably Huawei kit.

This looks like a Mediatek chipset. The ASUS DSL-AC68U has a similar interface. I think a command I used was 'wan adsl diag' and it output a plethora of information.

So NSBFD exchange or wherever is presumably Huawei kit.

The only certainty is that a Broadcom line-card chipset is in use. Good. That may well explain the improvement you observed with the ZyXEL VMG1312-B10A.

The other hint is that the NSBFD located DSLAM is an Ericsson unit. (If the result related to a G.993.2 / VDSL2 / FTTC circuit, then the MSAN would be a Huawei unit.)

I thought the same
Makes me wonder if the TC Console app would work.

edit: AA page confirms it's a Mediatek chipset

j0hn kitizen G.DMT told me it is a mediatek/ trendchip device in a superb earlier thread about this modem. Warning: I myself wrote almost all of the current AA page about the modem, so you can't rely on the word of AA. I don't know if there is a way to see old versions of the page, checking a pre January 1 version would tell you whether AA agree about the chipset.
