Possibility of New Cabinet

Just had a look and found this on codelook is this a new cabinet FTTC Available from 9th November 2012, being expanded by March 2019 existing is ECI

Yes.
In anticipation of the next question, yes it will be a Huawei cabinet.

In my experience codelook doesn't mention a cabinet "being expanded" if it is just a Huawei having an HD extension fitted (fitting larger line cards).

The "being expanded" is only referenced if a whole new cabinet is being installed.

Of course it's an irrelevant point with regards to ECI cabinets as they can't have extensions added. They already contain 64 port line cards.

Did notice on Roadworks.org last week that a new Earth rod was being fitted could that have anything to do with it. Thing is the existing cabinet is showing availability not a waiters list

It will likely be nearing capacity, or more lines are due to be served by the PCP.
That could be either new builds or a local network rearrangement (local exchange only lines for example).

In some areas they are woefully slow at adding capacity(waiting list showing). In others they are ahead of the game.

Yes. Each cabinet containing active electronics has to be provided with an earthing point of low Ohmic impedance (AC) and resistance (DC). An "Earth rod" will be the means to provide such a point.

Well will just have to keep an eye out for the works starting. At last my get g.inp on a new line on the new cabinet  :fingers:
