Customers of KCOM’s broadband ISP in Hull (East Yorkshire, UK) can now choose from a new range of bundles, which give subscribers the choice about how much data, calls or download speed (up to 400Mbps on FTTP) they’d like to add (as opposed to picking from the usual pre-selected bundles).

Homes covered by KCOM’s new Lightstream broadband platform, which reaches roughly 75% of the operator’s network area (150,000 premises and this should reach 100% by March 2019), can also pick from package speeds that go up to 400Mbps. The majority of this roll-out uses their Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) technology, although around 4% of premises may only be able to access the slower 75Mbps FTTC (VDSL2) service. Outside of that the rest can only get sub-20Mbps ADSL2+.

Cathy Phillips, KCOM’s Chief Marketing Officer, said:

“Our new range of home broadband packages gives customers maximum choice and flexibility when it comes to choosing an internet service that’s right for them.

By choosing the speed and data they need for their internet usage – whether that’s online gaming, watching Netflix or just checking social media – householders can tailor their services to meet their specific needs so they’re only paying for the services they value.

We want to make it easy and affordable for everyone to get online.”

Do we have any forum members that are in the KCOM area? I'm wondering what their experiences are with broadband services?
