Hi folks,
I just reloaded my OS (Wins 7 Sp1) and for some reason the My Documents  Icon did not appear so I found the prog and sent it to the desktop as a short cut.  Now I have an  icon that  looks like an open book.
Is there any way to get the original icon?

Right click your desktop icon & select properties.
From the Shortcut tab you should see the "Change Icon" option offered.
On left clicking this you should be offered quite a selection of icon's to choose from.
Pick one of your choice and select apply.
Back out of the window.

Not sure what your original icon was but you should have quite a selection to choose from as described.
More program specific icons will be located in those program areas and harder to find.
