dslstats synchronising - what is this doing?
« on: April 10, 2018, 04:49:50 PM »

Sorry if this question is really stupid.

But basically if I stop or pause dslstats then click start again, it waits for about 2 minutes synchronising, but what is it synchronising to?  The cpu is idle and storage idle whilst this is going on, and the graphs nearly all get wiped as well so SNR e.g. loses historical data and starts afresh.

but what is it synchronising to?

Do you have HG612 modem stats compatibility option running?  If you do, it waits to sync time so that the 2 programs don't clash by both requesting stats at the same time.

You can check for this under the Misc options in Configuration.

^^^
That sounds like the explanation. The 'synchronising' message does relate to HG612 modem stats compatibility.
