Most fairly recent Technicolor modem/routers were only sold via ISPs, using locked custom firmware. If this applies to your friend's model, then you'll be stuck at the first hurdle, unless someone knows a way to unlock it.
However, if it's Broadcom based and it does have an accessible telnet interface, then DSLstats may work with it - suck it and see would apply.

Hi Eric

I think I may have found a bug in 6.5.9 in relation to the datastore.

My configuration is as follows.

Save data to datastore ticked
Single file each day selected
Items to include all unticked.

As I understand it, this should mean I have the main stats included every sample, which I think is the Stats.log, but should be no Bitloading, SNR Tone, Hlog or QLN data as they not ticked.

However I do see a zip file for each of the 4 above data types made every hour in the dated folder.

@Chrys:  That does sound like a bug, but I guess we could call it a benign one as no data is lost.

To both of you: I'm sorry but I'm not able to do any more work on DSLstats now.

Hello

Just wondering if DSLStats can be run with Draytek routers? There isn't an option to choose from the dropdown menu.

Thanks.

Rather unlikely I'm afraid. This might help: http://dslstats.me.uk/newmodem.html

Unable to determine IP address error  Following  re-sync /power off of the modem, i now see this in the event log Is there any reason why it would suddenly stop being able to see the IP address ? my set-up is a HG612  unlocked and a Billion 7800  router

This is a know issue, but it has no effect on the working of the program, it is unlikely to be addressed.

I used to have a couple of issues when i was on xDSL - but as Roseway says, he is unable to make changes to the program from now on, it works for what you need it for most, so it should be fine, my issue was not NO DATA for previous days, but now I'm on PON it is of no use anymore, which is a bit disheartening, i liked having it and I checked it DAILY!

so THANK YOU Roseway for your efforts!

Thank you for your kind words. :)

Your welcome, it is deserved, as you put a lot of work into that and was the BEST xDSL checker on the internet. I'm sure others would agree.

Yes I agree it has been and still is an invaluable tool to monitor connections. Sadly in about 3 weeks I will also have to stop running it once I am on FTTP.

Thanks Eric...
