Good afternoon.

ZyXEL VMG8924-B10A

Does anyone recommend this, and do you know if it is likely to be able to support profile 35b in newer firmware updates? It is not listed in the specs.

AFAIK it needs to be a newer Broadcom chipset, and support for 35b can't be added with a firmware upgrade.

Some manufacturers will call profile 35b VPlus.

2nd hand ones are quite cheap on ebay, they do support 802.11ac wireless and the 5th ethernet port can be used for the local LAN if a DSL connection is used.  Zyxel do appear to produce regular firmware updates.

What would be nice is as FTTP becomes more prevalent. Is a list of comercial ONT/Modems, as we all get concerns about BT's white box! Or Zen's offering which ever is the greater.
