For those still struggling with the VF supplied modem/router, I have today received my Service Confirmation letter, with a copy of the t&c's, updated December 2017. In them they state "You can use your use your own router to receive the services but must ensure it is compatible."
I would give you the link to the online version, but that is still showing the May 2017 version!
It's a pity they don't supply a decent router in the first place...
