Survey Engineers
« on: January 12, 2018, 08:33:58 PM »

Well I've been thinking. Yes very dangerous I know!  :-[
So please feel free to shoot me down in flames, I know some will!
But if my Copper CAB has had an extension put on it for G.Fast or FTTP. Does that mean that the cab has had an actual survey done for FTTP upgrading.  The new cab is across the road from the old one and this add on was done a year later to the FTTC going live. If so does that mean things will be moving on, especially as G.Fast hasn't even gone live yet. So it's more likely to be for FTTP. Or is just a case of blanket bombing to cover all bases!
Worse case scenario is of course that's it's a box for more copper lines for Eagles Meadow! Dam those shoppers!  >:(  ;)
But as OR seems more secretive than a Policeman's Ball, I guess we will never know.

Cheers
David

They don't touch the PCP for FTTP.
Anything added to the PCP is for G.Fast or FTTC.

edit: just noticed I'm repeating myself.

I'm not trying to be a killjoy, but no, it does NOT mean they have done a survey for FTTP! They do NOT touch the PCP for FTTP. The fibre for FTTP comes from elsewhere.
They are more likely to blow the PCP up for FTTP than to add to it  ::)

Must say, all that is redolent of the old country lay preacher. "First I tells 'em what I'm going to tell 'em.Then I tells 'em. Then I tells 'em what I told them". ;D
