Reason:8000 G992 Failure
« on: November 16, 2017, 12:13:33 PM »

Anyone shed more light on what the above error really means

Saw high FEC spikes just before the resync lost a little speed after resync but line now back to normal in terms of error and FEC levels

Yes I read most of those but when its starts to say

G992 Failure because of a Tone Ordering Exception

I'm none the wiser

I was hoping for some insight. Maybe I'm just too stupid

No to worry I'll just forget I saw it

There is a bit of history here....

Reason 8000 I had never found out what it meant but had seen it many times on ADSL lines since MDWS started. Last night while looking for something else I found out that it was for a 'G.992' failure which is the reference for the ADSL system.  So I coded it in. Unfortunately I got it wrong slightly and everyone started getting that message for most failures this morning :-[ I've now fixed it but it may stay like that in some historical references.

HOWEVER in kwiller's case I thought I'd check the upload database and lo and behold  code 8000 WAS what you were uploading as the last retrain reason via DSLstats. So there was something odd going on I guess... Still uploading 8000 currently and will do until the next resync (hopefully) changes it.

If you look in DSLstats at Telnet Data --> Connection Stats, just a few lines from the top there's a line "Last Retrain Reason: ... " which is what your modem is reporting.
