Hi all

New to forum and grateful to find as we are having a mare with BT Infinity connection. We have standard HH and suffer irregular disconnections. We have now had 4 OR engineer visits and every time the line is declared good, cabinet checked and we are told nothing wrong. Yesterday was the last straw when after 5 day outage the connection pops back on in the morning pre-visit, engineer arrives & diagnoses all good, leaves and 3 hrs later line goes down again.

Willing amateur here and happy to learn but need some advice on how to put a setup in place that allows us to be better informed as to issues and get BT / OR to fix this.

First thing: what is the phone like? Do you ever get background noise?

Phone bizarrly is good and line, according to OR, clean.

Which HH are you using? Have BT considered whether the HH might be faulty.

HH6. OR tested as far as he can. This was part of rationale for replacing with modem and Nighthawk or equivalemt wi-fi router.

The HH6 has had problems. The BT Community forum has several long threads with HH6 issues.

Using your own modem/router, individual or combined will more than likely give you a more reliable connection than the HH6.
