Sorry guys, I have a DGA4130, rooted with 1.0.3 firmware and the Ansuel GUI that I have not updated for longitime. I was happy and was avoiding to encounter any issues with new updates. Yesterday the router crashed disabling all the WIFI networks... I made a switch off and now it is half working. No Wifi, no admin interface, just ehternet and internet. I hopefully have the SSH access and I see that nginx and other process like curl and ssl modules are giving Segmentation Fault! So it is impossible to restart the web interface and other things.
What could be the reason of this problem? What can I do to try to restore the router without loosing the root?

Any suggestion would be very appreciated. Many thanks!

Hello,
does anyone noticed this Modem/router based on Broadcom BCM63138 ?

Complete review in italian here : http://www.hwupgrade.it/forum/showthread.php?t=2817859
Datasheet here : https://www.callflow.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/ultrfast-technicolor-router-spec-sheet.pdf

Eu tive um nas mãos, um baita Router de Banda Dupla, pena que tenho pouco conhecimento em usar firmware para ROOT, queria muito aprender a "brincar" com isso.

I had one in my hands, a huge Dual Band Router, too bad I have little knowledge of using firmware for ROOT, I really wanted to learn to "play" with it.

O meu usado também deu esse problema de travar o Wi-Fi e acabei devolvendo pro vendedor.

My used one also gave this problem of locking the Wi-Fi and I ended up returning it to the seller.

Hi All,

I'm looking for some advice on how to root and add the updated GUI to a DGA4130.
However, my case is a little bit different to what most people seem to be doing. Rather than getting a router from Italy, I've managed to source a UK Callflow model.

From reading the thread, I can see that shdf now recommends going here:
 https://github.com/Ansuel/tch-nginx-gui

However, the instructions there don't seem to map directly to what I'm seeing in the router. Certainly, the version numbers don't match at all.
In my GUI, I have a software version of 16.3. Is there a way I can tell if this is rootable? Is there a different process for this model?

I'm anxious not to mess anything up by acting in haste.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Andy.

Hey all,

Just wondering what the latest firmware for this is? I unlocked mine some time ago - and I have vectoring on my line.

@fatfurrycat
yes the 16.3 version is rootable. You can use the tool "autoflashgui" to root your device, just untick "flash firmware ?", as you only want to root it.

if you update the Ansuel GUI to the latest version first, then you can upgrade the firmware to the latest version 2.2.x too
i just did it on both my DGA4130 and DGA4132, i didn't lost the root. i upgraded the firmware from the GUI.
after the upgrade there were missing cards in the GUI, so i had to connect with putty and run that command to update the GUI again and fix that issue :

Code: [Select]
curl -k https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ansuel/gui-dev-build-auto/master/GUI.tar.bz2 --output /tmp/GUI.tar.bz2 && bzcat /tmp/GUI.tar.bz2 | tar -C / -xvf - && /etc/init.d/rootdevice force

It's not something that's going to be possible with this modem.
It's just not possible with modems with Broadcom chipsets.

I returned mine. The GUI was horrible, bridge mode was a faff at the time and it synced lower than my Zyxels.

When you first rooted and after flashed to the Ansuel GUI did you lose the settings of you router? I still have mine with ISP's custom firmware 17.1 which i believe you can't root it with that version and if i somehow flash it to a different version to make it root work i will lose the settings for VOIP and the provider is now giving the username and password for SIP.

How can i root it without losing the settings?

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to set up bridge mode without success.

I have been reading, several times, this topic where @LuKePicci explains in details how to set up the full bridge mode for two openWRT devices. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to adapt it for myself.

I currently have an opnsense router which manages various things for me : VLANs, firewall, DHCP, etc. I'd like to keep it, and use the DGA 4130 / 4132 as a simple "dumb" modem.

I am trying to achieve somethig very similar to this, ie :
* bridge the modem using only an ETH interface
* leave the other wifi interfaces out of the bridge in order to be reached through the usual 192.168.1.1 in order to access and view the connection statistics

My "current config' :

Code: [Select]
config interface 'loopback'
option ifname 'lo'
option proto 'static'
option ipaddr '127.0.0.1'
option netmask '255.0.0.0'

config globals 'globals'
option default_ps '0'
option ula_prefix 'none'

Could anyone help me do that please?

Many thanks in advance, I'll be happy to provide any config asked.

Various info :
* my current ISP uses pppoe DHCP over VLAN 835 (Orange VDSL France), and I have to send MAC + user_id (no password) via DHCP options, in order to authenticate ;
* DGA version is 2.2.1 ;
* Ansuel GUI 9.6.65-89342d7b ;
* OpenWrt Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 unknown / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-20.155.55668-a972bdb).

If it helps, this is how my HH5a are configured in the UK (have obfuscated the MAC addresses):
Code: [Select]
config interface 'loopback'
        option proto 'static'
        option ipaddr '127.0.0.1'
        option netmask '255.0.0.0'

        option annex 'b'
        option tone 'a'

# Configure the LAN interface
config interface 'lan'
        option proto 'static'
        option netmask '255.255.255.0'
        option gateway '192.168.1.254'
        list dns '192.168.1.254'
        option ipaddr '192.168.1.240'
        option stp '1'
        option device 'br-lan'

        option macaddr '18:1e:78:##:##:##'

# Create the Bridged WAN interface
config interface 'wan'
        option proto 'none'
        option device 'br-wan'

# Baby jumbo frames on the DSL interface
config device 'wan_dev'
        option macaddr '18:1e:78:##:##:##'
        option name 'dsl0'
        option mtu '1508'

# Enable the Switch
config switch
        option name 'switch0'
        option reset '1'
        option enable_vlan '1'

# Assign VLAN1 to switch ports 0 1 2 4 and VLAN tag on port 5 (for single cable link to the router option) and the SoC NIC on port 6
config switch_vlan
        option device 'switch0'
        option vlan '1'
        option vid '1'
        option ports '0 1 2 4 5t 6t'

# Assign VLAN2 to switch port 5 and tag on the SoC NIC port 6
config switch_vlan
        option device 'switch0'

config device
        option name 'br-lan'

config device
        option name 'br-wan'
        option type 'bridge'
        list ports 'eth0.2'
        list ports 'dsl0.101'

For the WiFi you just add them to the LAN bridge, easiest done in LuCI.  Bear in mind there should be no DHCP enabled on the modem so this wont give you connectivity unless you set a static IP on the device connecting, or have it bridged into the LAN via the router like I do.

On pfSense I have a VLAN1 interface on the WAN ethernet port that bridges into the LAN so I can access the modem UI from the LAN.
