Thank you... but I've known that trick a long time.  ;D

I've never had a two-cable solution ...

back to this thread, I saw that Ansuel have updated its GUI.

Now I have TIM unlocked GUI from shdf at beginning of March.
May I untar Ansuel GUI (http://repository.ilpuntotecnicoeadsl.com/files/Ansuel/AGTEF/GUI.tar.gz2) on my DGA4132 where I have installed TIM Unlocked GUI (www.dga4132.tk)?

Now is Ansuel GUI compatible with both DGA-4130 and DGA-4132 router?

Thank you

i just found that the Technicolor TG800vac which is very close to the DGA4130/DGA4132 is a G.FAST certified product:
https://www.broadband-forum.org/implementation/interop-certification/gfast-certified-products
it was tested with the dsl driver : A2pvfbH043i.d26q

Definitely very interesting! Just where can you buy the device except in Australia?

nowhere as it is built for telstra like the dga4130 is built for TIM...
i'm wondering if this is not just based on a licence to "enable" that g.fast feature in the modem that the ISP would pay...or maybe the adsl-phy.bin has some extra code implemented ?

@shdf ...

Interesting question. I'm trying to get to the bottom of these things. A suitable forum is known to me.

Something else:
Do you know what to do to take HTTPS access for Tim without upgrading to Ansuel GUI?

i watched into that already, when i watch the nginx configuration, from my understanding, we should see the GUI when we use https, but it shows a 404 error, which mean it points to a place where there is no index page...i don't understand...

Edit:
in nginx.conf, replace this :
Code: [Select]
    init_worker_by_lua '
        local sessioncontrol = require("web.sessioncontrol")
        sessioncontrol.setManagerForPort("default", "80")
        sessioncontrol.setManagerForPort("assistance", "443")
    ';

with this :
Code: [Select]
    init_worker_by_lua '
        local sessioncontrol = require("web.sessioncontrol")
        sessioncontrol.setManagerForPort("default", "80")
        sessioncontrol.setManagerForPort("default", "443")
    ';

restart nginx and now it should work, except that the certificat is obviously not valid, but anyway the data between your browser and the DGA are encrypted :

Thank you very much, I will try https.

I noticed this JavaScript error, which affects the performance of WEBui. If you call the console (MS Edge, Chrome or Firefox Quantum) and use the tile management.

[Deprecation] Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user's experience. For more help. check https://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/.

ok, got it, at least with internet explorer it works fine, Chrome needs extra info in the certificate.

here is how i did  it :

first of all, you need to know your dga4130 hostname, by default if you didn't change it, it should be modemtim, so check if you can do a ping modemtim to verify.  if you have a particular configuration then just configure your dns to point to your modem IP when using the domain name "modemtim". you can also edit your HOST file in your PC.

Now from putty with opkg, you have to install openssl, i think it was installed on my modem with the Ansuel GUI.
once installed, type this :
Quote
openssl req -x509 -nodes -days 3650 -newkey rsa:2048 -keyout nginx-selfsigned.key -out nginx-selfsigned.crt -subj '/CN=modemtim'
this will generate the 2 files :
nginx-selfsigned.key
nginx-selfsigned.crt

move then in the /etc/nginx/ folder

now edit nginx.conf and add the new values in bold :

Quote
sessioncontrol.setManagerForPort("default", "443")

Quote
        ssl_certificate /etc/nginx/nginx-selfsigned.crt;
        ssl_certificate_key /etc/nginx/nginx-selfsigned.key;

once done, restart nginx. /etc/init.d/nginx restart

now you have to start Internet explorer as administrator, this is important.
once done go to https://modemtim

now it is too long to give details... but what you have to do is to display the certificate  details by clicking the "padlock" in internet explorer, then click to install the certificate, choose to add it in the TRUSTED ROOT CERTIFICATE AUTHORITY. Once done close internet explorer and open it normaly, go to https://modemtim and now there is no errors.

Now if you watch your certificate, it should look like this :

Wow... Thank you!

I haven't changed the hostname, but I can't ping. Timeout.
But I can ping the IP. Is this possibly due to the single-cable solution?

in your asus router dns, can't you create a dns entry pointing to your DGA ip address with the hostname modemtim or what ever you want ?
if not then just edit your HOST file in your PC.

Your PC must see that the hostname in your certificate match the hostname of the modem. there is at least 2 possibilities for that :
use a dns that says : modemtim = 192.168.1.1
add in your HOST file : 192.168.1.1    modemtim

Thank you again for the detailed instructions! :)

However, I want to be able to call all connected clients (and not just the PC) the modem via https://modemtim. I'll give you a response tonight.

Then you have to find where in your asus modem you can associate the hostname to the ip. if you can't do that simple thing in your asus router then better throw it out the window :'( or just use it as a wifi AP connected to the modem.  ;D

From my point of view, accessing something in your own local network by https is useless/paranoid. These are unnecessary complications.
