25 is a bigger number than 9

So if....
3.9 is released
then
3.10 is released
then
3.11 is released

so 3.9 is older than 3.25
understand?

edit: oops

Well no I don't because roseway above said the opposite!

I think j0hn made a typo, and meant that 3.9 is earlier than 3.25. Just take note of the sequence 3.9, 3.10, 3.11, 3.12....3.24, 3.25, 3.26....

I think of it as 3.09  not 3.9

I did indeed.
I think of it as 3.09  not 3.9
This is how I think of it, but thought I would confuse the matter. Then I wrote the opposite of what I meant to anyway  :D

The best source for the VOIP configuration is here :
https://www.crc.id.au/hacking-the-technicolor-tg799vac-and-unlocking-features/
go to the Configure a third party SIP provider section.
i just had to edit this file a little : /etc/config/mmpbxrvsipnet
and it worked like a charm...

By edit do you mean you just telnet this to the 4130

I have tried various ways of inputing into the phone number area for the sips set up. Which is the correct way. For example the page shows.

First field is username so tried +******@****.****.net (AS my username appears in my isp provided modem.

Second field is URL so tries ****.****.net also tried phone number in there.

Third field is password which I know is correct as I had to obtain it from my isp and input into their modem. This also shows in the first page of the telephone tab accessed from the Gui.

I am probably missing something could you clarify what information goes in what field also on the first page it shows I think from memory a field with primary registration and then port 5060 (I believe this is correct for my isp) so should something be typed into that field.

Thanks for any help you can offer would like to get this working as it syncs much better than my present modem, also shame it keeps dropping the line when I have it connected via the ethernet port as that is asimple solution.

i use Winscp to get the file from the modem, edit it with notepad++, and send it back to its place with winscp.

All i had to do is to follow the instruction in the link. But maybe things vary with some ISP.

My SIP parameters are (i changed some numbers  ;D ):
  Phone number : 0033448150311
  Login / User name       : 0033448150311
  Password            : xxxxxxxx
  Authorization user name : 0033448150311
  Domain / Registrar      : sip3.ovh.fr

As you can see the phone number, the username, and authorisation name are all the same so it could be confusing to know which parameter you have to insert...Anyway i hope it could help you a bit.

This is my configuration file /etc/config/mmpbxrvsipnet.

3.9 refers to the GUI, not the modem firmware. Changing it doesn't affect your DSL performance at all, and now you have 3.9 you can safely upgrade the GUI while the modem is connected to the internet. I suggest version 3.25. Version 3.36 is the latest, but it has a bug which may result in loss of DNS. This can be fixed with a little mild hacking.

I am not having much luck with this device; unloacked Okay, installed 3.25 (the setup wiz would not start), installed 3.36 and now have the DNS problem.

what hacking do I have to do to fix this?

I did try editing the /tmp/resolv.conf but on restarting dnsmasq it rewrites the file.

Thanks in advance

The solution was given in the italian forum link which shdf gave above. If you put it through Google Translate it all becomes clear. But in short, you have to edit the file /etc/config/dhcp and remove the line option dhcpv4 'server' from the section config dhcp 'lan'

when you see a strange behaviour of your modem after an update, just reboot the modem, it will save you from tearing all your hair.  ::)

Does anyone know what the difference is between the CLOSED and DUMMY versions of a given release of firmware?

e.g. AGTEF_1.0.4_CLOSED.rbi and AGTEF_1.0.4_DUMMY.rbi

you have to edit the file /etc/config/dhcp

Thanks, missed that, DHCP currently off and no sign of this line in my /etc/config/dhcp file, will try again in a few days, when I next connect it and turn on dhcp.

I have noticed a GUI bug, the "Internet Access" card becomes unopenable when WAN connection is set to "PPPoa" (my ADSL (g.dmt) connection)

I have confirmed this by editing /etc/config/network ... section .... config interface wan and changing "option proto" from pppoa to pppoe then it works as normal again.

A few days ago i flashed the firmware 1.0.4, no problem found.
Yesterday i installed the latest GUI 4.5.x and everything seems to be OK too. You can safely update the GUI from the GUI. No reboot required.
If at the end of the process you see an nginx error 500 displayed, don't panic, just open putty and type these 2 commands:
/etc/init.d/transformer restart
/etc/init.d/nginx restart

And voilą  :)

There are some improvements and new features coming from the Latest Firmware 1.1.0_001
The GUI 4.5.x was tested on firmware 1.0.3 and 1.0.4

At the moment with the version 4.5.10 i don't see any particular bug.

PS:
now you can change the GUI color from the "system extra" tile, there is a GUI skin section.  :)
