I haven't got that far yet. :)  I've successfully unlocked it, and checked that I can login via SSH using root/root. Now I need to configure it to login to my ISP. I'm taking it slowly and carefully, so I won't get it all done this evening.

It's up and running. Connection speeds are 76.4/19.99 which is the same as I was getting with the Zyzel VMG8324-B10A (which was in bridge mode).

I upgraded to the latest GUI, which is reported as 3.7, but the software version is AGTEF_1.0.2 not 1.0.3. I don't know if this is an issue, and I should go back to the unlocker and make sure I have the latest version?

There's only one problem - I can't access it by telnet. I enabled telnet in the GUI, and /etc/config/telnet shows it as enabled, but when I try to connect by telnet I get "The connection was refused by the remote host".

Well, the WEBui only upgrade the WEBui (and a few files), but not the Firmware.
To upgrade the Firmware to 1.0.3 you have to upload it from the GUI now. first download the firmware file : AGTEF_1.0.3_CLOSED.rbi

Once upgraded to this new firmware, you should be again with the TIM webui :D so you'll have to unlock again (don't forget to check "Nuova Gui") with the unlocker and reinstall again the new Webui 3.7.
And i hope this time the telnet will work.

Hi, mine arrived yesterday but not had a chance to look at it yet, maybe tonight but possibly have to wait until the weekend.

Can you clarify the steps taken to get this to the latest version of the technicolors own firmware?

1. Download this folder: https://mega.nz/#F!Pd8TgAJA!t-Yj3SktM8dNqvoIwiWbmg
2. Run the unlocker tool
3.?

Does the unlocker tool install the latest fw from the downloaded folder as I see there are two at present or do you then install the latest fw via the web gui after unlocking?
Does the unlocker install the latest gui (3.7) or do still have to update that manually with wget?

Many thanks  :) :)

Would be great to document a step by step procedure, I would be happy to help when I receive my modem.

The unlocker tool only enable SSH with user/pass root/root, and CAN (depends if you select it or not) :
- install the "tweaked" webui version 2.10 (which is embeded in the unlocker tool)
- Disable CWMPD
- Enable unencrypted import/export configuration file.

From my point of view, check everything  :)

The tool doesn't upgrade the firmware. You have to do this yourself once the new Webui 2.10 is installed, you have the possibility to upload the new firmware : AGTEF_1.0.3_CLOSED.rbi.
To upgrade to the new firmware you have to go in the GATEWAY menu here. Choose the file and click "upgrade".
Of course if you are already with the 1.0.3 firmware, there is no reason to flash the same firmware again :D, do it only if you are with the firmware 1.0.2

Upgrading to this new firmware will install once again the TIM web interface, but the modem is still rooted. So now you have to install the latest Webui 3.7 manualy from SSH.
With Winscp put the file GUI.tar.bz2 into /tmp and run these 2 commands :
bzcat /tmp/GUI.tar.bz2 | tar -C / -xvf -
/etc/init.d/rootdevice force

Be patient...Once done you can go to 192.168.1.1 and you'll see the new tweaked Webui 3.9

Since webui 2.23 you can easily update your webui from the web interface, there is a "Upgrade GUI" button. so no need anymore to do it from SSH.

Remember a few important things:
Only firmware previous to 1.0.4 can be rooted with the unlocker tool (1.0.2 and 1.0.3)
The firmware 1.0.4 fixes the flaw, but doesn't disable the SSH and root account. So you can still update the Webui.
For the moment i suggest to never flash any firmware higher than 1.0.3 unless it is really necessary, but don't forget that the unlocker tool will not work anymore if you are on the 1.0.4 Firmware.
If you flashed the 1.0.4 firmware, and installed the tweaked webui, you can downgrade to 1.0.3 and the unlocker tool will work again.

Some people flashed to 1.0.4 and lost their root access because of the Bank1 and Bank2 thing , i don't know how they did it but it happens...so better not try it for the moment.

I've gone through the process, and I'm exactly where I was before. I uploaded AGTEF_1.0.3_CLOSED.rbi, and it still reports itself as 1.0.2. Telnet still doesn't work. Maybe after enabling it I need to reboot the router, but I'll leave that until tomorrow, as I don't want to get hit by DLM. I expect there's a way to start the telnet service without rebooting, but I don't know how.

yes i think it is necessary to reboot the modem.

Else try  /usr/sbin/telnetd it worked for me.
i disabled telnet from the gui, i had no telenet access, i ran this command and i was able to connect.

About the firmware what does it say when you type:

cat /proc/banktable/active
cat /proc/banktable/inactive

cat /proc/banktable/activeversion
cat /proc/banktable/passiveversion
