while booted up pressing it does exactly nothing... when pressing it on bootup I could re-flash via tftp - i did that as well as i pressed "b" to flash it...

Are there any other combinations of using the reset button?

..it does not... maybe the switch is broken - but that can't be, because then tftpboot after powerup would not work either.

SInce all leds are off despite the most left one, Maybe something GPIO related has crashed, I think the reset button is also only a GPIO Port, or isn't it?

something at boot crash... as you have serial access, you need to press the reset button for 5 sec and release it... Looks like it does crash after the root script is executed.

Look the bootlog you shoud see mount_rootfs... after that press reset button... you need to trigger the reset function before the crash...

another solution would be switch bank if you have another bank flashed.

That was a precious hint!  I booted it up, waited until the gpio thingies were initialized and pressed then excaclty 5 seconds the reset button -> voilą factory settings restored!
Pressing the button to ealy or too late did exactly nothing.

Now its back on 1.0.3. what is good, I think :-) Now I reroot it and flash the gui.

BTW: Ansuel  is your GUI http://www.dga4132.tk/http://www.dga4132.tk/  still the one I could take or is there a newer or better one available?

Thanks a lot for your help! Really appreciated!

Gui Version
7.17.3

Software Version
AGTEF_1.0.3

xdsl config
A2pvbH042j2.d26m
Dslam Chipset: Broadcom
Dslam Version: 164.27
I am using the above configuration and my set up is purely as a modem/router on VDSL2 F.T.T.C

Is there any benefit to me in going to a later version of software (probably thinking xdsl drivers. If so would it be possible to recommend a version please.
Thanks

Next Problem... the Bridge Mode is not really transparent bridging it seems.

The Following happens only when the Technicolor is in use, not if I use my "hacked" AVM Fritzbox which also only adds ptm0 or ptm0.7 to the LAN Bridge.

pppe Connect is flawless. After that I get an IPv4 via PPPoE and that works.
With this Public IP Address I establish another GIF Tunnel to Hurricane Electrics.
The GIF Tunnel comes up and is stable as it seems. It is also pingable.

But Traffic over it is a struggle... every now an than I see some ICMPv6 unreachable and most of the time when traffic flows, it is not usable at all.
Since it is tunneld over IPv4 and so over pppoe i don't reall get what the Technicolor could mess around with it - or maybe its switch?

As mentioned above, I can leave the rest of the configuration as is, put my bridged Fritzbox in place and everything works flawlessy...

The Problems stays nearly the whole time, in the Technicolor Log I get these sometimes:

Code: [Select]
[ 599.586000] [ERROR pktrunner] __ucastSetFwdAndFilters,774: Unable to determine if the flow is routed or bridged
[  602.202000] [ERROR pktrunner] __ucastSetFwdAndFilters,774: Unable to determine if the flow is routed or bridged
[  705.255000] [ERROR pktrunner] __ucastSetFwdAndFilters,774: Unable to determine if the flow is routed or bridged
[  707.892000] [ERROR pktrunner] __ucastSetFwdAndFilters,774: Unable to determine if the flow is routed or bridged

The Other thing which could do something even in pppoe Sessions is this one

Code: [Select]
[   26.769000] NF_TPROXY: Transparent proxy support initialized, version 4.1.0
[   26.775000] NF_TPROXY: Copyright (c) 2006-2007 BalaBit IT Ltd.

But where to disable to test?

Or is there something I can check or test with the xdsl Driver?  Since the Fritzbox has a Lantiq Chipset and no Broadcom, maybe the bridging situation is slightly different.

As said, "normal" IPv4 traffic directly transferred over pppoe runs without problems or speed issues -- I get net my 100 MBit Down and 40 Mbit Up without any problem.

Is there a possibility that something is whinging about MTU due to the tunnel?

That is not really the problem I think. But I also checked it since the problems are the same when the MTU does not fit.

I Also reduced the MTU of the tunnel down to really unhealthy low Values  lower than 1280)  and nothing in the behaviour changes.

And when the pppoe Connection with a MTU 1492 works without problems and everything else is ON TOP of this IP Connection, why could it change when you change the transparent VDSL Bridge underneath... that does not really make sense to me - so It has something to do with  the bridge, the Broadcom Switch in the DGA  or some Filtering-THingies which intercept unencrypted traffis in a pppoe tunnel (e.g. another GIF Tunnel

Maybe the Protocol 41 gets blocked or modified by the DGA4132?

It is a really strange behaviour.

It could be that the particular data being sent in that case manages to trigger a Broadcom bug. There have been content-related bugs reported in the Huawei HG612 and in the ZyXEL VMG 1312-B10A iirc reported by the ISP Andrews and Arnold to the manufacturers and these are details in the AA support wiki website. So I am just wondering whether this has hit a problem that affects a whole load of modems that use the same core hardware and same low level DSL driver code written by Broadcom. AA for example found a bug in the HG612 which only affected users who were running a VPN. Maybe other types of tunnels will also cause it problems.

Hey Guys.

I got a question because i am a bit confused by the 72 pages of information  :-X
I just got my DGA4132. To get root access, i need to run that tool from the swiss guy, right?
After that, what do i have to do? I downloaded a couple of files from someones signature but i dont know exacty what to do.
What i've read is that i need a dsl config and a gui? is that all, or do i need anything else?
I am from Germany and i will get DSL with vectoring next month and want to run this router als a modem.

Thnks in advance

Welcome to the Kitz forum.  :)

I have to agree with you, 72 pages of information is rather daunting! There are two members whose posts you should note, Ansuel and shdf. You may need to start at about page 68 and then make notes as you read their posts.
