ATM I don't use Bridge mode. I did try it in Bridge a little while ago, but couldn't figure out how to extract the stats without running a second cable, which is rather inconvenient.
Well it depends on your main Routers Firmware, actually it will be quite simple if your using OpenWRT, DD-WRT, AsusWRT-Merlin or Tomato firmware.

@Ansuel

Do you have to reboot for a dsl driver change to take effect? Is the new fastgate best in terms of sync speed or more in terms stability. Thanks!

Sup bilbokitz, actually there are two FastGate drivers (TG799VAC and New Fastgate Fastweb).
I wonder which one Ansuel was talking about but i guess the newest one, which would be New Fastgate Fastweb (043g.d26r) ?
You should only change your driver if you don't reach Fullsync or have stability problems, otherwise i would stick with the one that you are already using.

And I think u have to reboot to get the to get the new driver to take place, or maybe there is a xdsl command that initiate a resync ?
Code: [Select]
xdslctl connection --down
xdslctl stop
xdslctl start
xdslctl connection --up
Maybe this one will work (haven't tested yet)...

oh and if I turn dsl off under the broadband tab I lose the option to turn it on again.
I have to set the option enabled "1" manually in xdsl file and then manually restart
xdsl. PS I am bridged.

I'm bridged as well, that's pretty bad for us.
My DGA cant connec't to the internet as a bridge (and it should be like this)...

Would be great to store them localy, i mean the DGA's have enuff size to store a few extra drivers so u dont have to rely on a working internet connection to change or when using Bridge Mode...
Ansuel could u make that happen in future GUI's ?
Or is it possible to change the download path to a local one inside the DGA's memory, so we can store those files manualy to make them working on the fly and without the need of a internet connection (bridge mode) ?

Hmm well, the drivers arent that big but i guess ur right, there is not enuff space for any driver, sadly.  :bye:
Code: [Select]
root@DGA1:~# df -h
Filesystem                Size      Used Available Use% Mounted on
rootfs                   89.1M      7.5M     81.6M   8% /
/dev/root                23.5M     23.5M         0 100% /rom
/dev/mtdblock2           89.1M      7.5M     81.6M   8% /overlay
overlayfs:/overlay/bank_1
                         89.1M      7.5M     81.6M   8% /

I find this option very useful but it's kinda impossible to use it in Bridge mode... A manuel change is not a huge problem tho.  ;)
Maybe it would be good to disable this option in Bridge mode, so the people don't get confused too much.

Btw, u told me to try out the FastGate driver, pls tell me which one u mean, New FastGate fastweb (A2pvfbH043b.d26r) ?

I hit a small snag yesterday: After installing ANSUEL's Gui and restarting, the DGA didn't boot. After I pushed the recessed reset button, the device booted from the other bank with the default TIM GUI (I still have root).

I'd like to go back to a state where I have two functioning banks, because now I'm on my last life - so to speak. What's the best way to do this? Intuitively, I think that redoing the autoflashgui procedure should be the right way:

first flash 1.1.0 with autoflashgui
second flash 1.0.3 with Root inactive enabled.

correct? EDIT: I already fixed it. I checked with Putty which bank was currently active (it was bank 1) and since that was the "safe" bank I decided to merely reinstall ANSUEL. It worked.

I only using Bank_1 as well. Bank_2 is empty...
Should I put 1.0.3 rooted on the second bank ?

How did you root and upgrade your modem? autoflashgui normally writes rooted firmware to both banks in case of problems.

I would put a firmware in bank 2, I believe you can do this by using autoflashGUI, entering 1.0.3 firmware filename and selecting "1.0.3 root inactive". This should flash the inactive bank with 1.0.3 and root it, but I'd wait for confirmation from sdhf and the other usual suspects.
