Hehe, its the first time i pulled the DGA4132 out of the box...  Came pre rooted with 1.0.3 :-[ ;D
My DGA4130 is doing very well, still on GUI 3.36 and firmware 1.0.3, only using bridge mode btw...

So im good to go to install/flash everything over the GUI ? (GUI Update + Fimware Upgrade to 1.1.0@ DGA4132) ?

Well, if you say so it will be allright.  :fingers:
Any advice about a specific xdsl driver ?
Sitting on Broadcom 117.140@VDSL2-Vectoring, decent line, no big interference...

Ok, ty for the advice...
I just realised that i have no GUI upgrade button within the 2.10 gui, so i have to go for Putty.
But i guess that shouldn't be a problem at all... *fingers crossed*

edit: GUI Upgrade went fine, no issues what so ever...
Fine work, changing dsl drivers on the fly is such a great tweak !!!
Dammit now i feel that i need to upgade my DGA4130 as well... Is there really no need to load factory defaults ?

Going for fw 1.1.0 now, wish me luck...

@Lil-Koby
I also have a DGA4130 with similar firmware &  GUI. If you decide to upgrade to 1.10 & TIM GUI, I would be interested to know how you get on!

to upgrade gui you don't need to reset

FW Upgrade to 1.1.0 (@DGA4132) went fine...
I've set up the Bridge Mode via GUI and set my VLAN Tag but my OpenWRT Router can't establish a pppoe connection anymore.

Quote
root@OpenWrt-Route1B:~# logread -f | grep ppp
Fri May 18 01:52:27 2018 daemon.warn pppd[30909]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Fri May 18 01:52:27 2018 daemon.err pppd[30909]: Unable to complete PPPoE Discovery
Fri May 18 01:52:27 2018 daemon.info pppd[30909]: Exit.

edit: found the problem... in the network config under config interface 'lan'
list ifname 'ptm0.835' had to replaced with list ifname 'wanptm0'

After a restart it was working fine again... So the GUI doesnt set it up correctly within the network config.

@Ansuel, Would be nice if you could fix this. Otherwise thanks a bunch for your great work, pls keep it up.
Also big thanks shdf, eclp and all the other people that make their contribution for this devices !!  :)

@Westie, no problem, I'll let you know... will let the DGA4132 run for a while and start to flash my DGA4130 now.

Sorry for so much asking but just to make sure...
Can i just install the latest GUI (via Putty or GUI) and than flash FW 1.1.0 via GUI without risking a brick with my DGA4130 ?
My DGA4130 is currently running fw 1.0.3 and GUI 3.36.

After the reboot i was looking at the TIM gui with nothing unlocked at all, i thought that i lost root but i was able connect via SSH and WinSCP to upgrade to the latest gui.
I've set everything up, changed the network config for bridge mode and voila.
Btw, it doesnt matter if you set list ifname 'wanptm0' or list ifname 'ptm0.11' (vlan 11 in my case) it will both work just fine.

@Westie, give it a try, i think there is nothing to fear about.
The new GUI is great ! Cant tell u much about 1.1.0 as i use my device only in bridge mode but i think u should flash latest fw which can be rooted.
Do you want to use your device as a Router or just pure Bridge ?

Yes if you come from a very old version the firmware upgrade can reset the gui to the original, root stay so it's just 3 code to do and you are done

About ptm

If you see the config file wanptm0 is just a virtual interface that adds the vlanid... I prefer the old way by tagging with 0.11 in case you need more tagging for an IPTV ore something like that.

Thanks Lil-Koby, I'll give it a go - but not for a week or so as I'm about to go away with Mrs Westie for a few days.

ATM I don't use Bridge mode. I did try it in Bridge a little while ago, but couldn't figure out how to extract the stats without running a second cable, which is rather inconvenient. I might also try to set up an IP phone line.
