Is there a way to get blue Eth WAN port to become 5th LAN port?
Manual for this unit states



Not the menu I have on my unit (as admin with latest F.13 firmware), but anyway, it only mentions port no 4

No.    The dedicated EWAN port cannot be converted to a LAN port.

Most (if not all) ZyXEL VMGnnnn devices have a configuration option to convert the LAN4 port to an EWAN port.

Thanks for confirmation, VMG3925 does not seem to have this option (Eth4 conversion) in admin accesses menu !?

Hmm, my VMG8924-B10A lets you do this (screenshot below). I do have a 3925 in a cupboard so I'll try and dig it out to take a look.

Agreed - I just dug-out my 3925 and the option isn't there (it's on the latest firmware AAVF.13), nor is the one @sebus05 has seen in the manual.
Thinking about it, the one from the manual would leave you with two WAN ports

The Zyxel models without a WAN port usually allow 1 of the Ethernet ports to be converted to a WAN port.

They *usually don't allow a dedicated WAN port to be used as an Ethernet port.

I added the word usually, not to the 2nd line I guess.

If I recall correctly Zyxel specifically refer to the WAN port on the 8324/8924 as an EthWAN or EWAN port in the documentation (perhaps even on the specs list or on the box).

The 3925 may not list this.

I've just taken a look at the manual and see it covers a range of models, including the VMG1312-B10D which does not have a dedicated WAN port. I suspect the option to convert LAN4 to a WAN port is for that model only, although the manual does not specifically say that.
