Must admit Banger you may have converted me to being a ZyXEL VMG1312-B10A user not that it's going to increase sync rate as my line won't go above 40Mbps unless the FTTC cabinet moves another 500 meters closer to me, the overall stats look very good

Well, it was either that or a VMG8x24 but they are a little expensive to use in bridge mode with dual band wireless when I have a perfectly good dual-band Asus router that reaches all the corners of my house.

I did my reading and research and listened to you and Kitz and have a result now.

You know yourself Chry look at Nvidia and the different models they have bigger numbers don't always perform as well as the smaller numbers, A chip during the manufacturing stage can have a flaw and still works but with less cache or something it's then rebadged as a budget chip with SE or GT

Yes but in those cases they are marketed as a different product and you can still buy the better product, billion and zyxel have both discontinued their better products and only changed one letter of the model name marketing them as replacement models.

I see that it has Broadcom chip, so should work well with a Hauwei cabinet. :)

I found the TP-LINK W9970 (V1 and V2) to have wildly fluctuating SNRM on my line, variances of 3-4dB per second.

I intend to try a VMG1312-B10A next :)

It wasn't up when I did my search if it had been I would have gone for it. Don't forget if it is faulty send it back as not as described and get a refund.

That's what I found with the W9970 V1, the SNRM seems very stable on the B10A. Didn't try the Billion 8800NL R2 for long to monitor as it had slightly lower sync than the W9970.

Thanks to Kitz for recommending this router. :)

I glad that it is performing as expected on your line :)

Just to clarify though, I believe I may have actually recommended the VMG8324/8924-B10A OR the VMG1312-B10A saying that all 3 use the same chipset which is better than that in the VMG1312-B10D.

I wouldn't expect the VMG1312-B10A to perform that much different to a VMG8324/8924 modem wise.  Differences on the last 2 models are more related to other things such as wifi, USB & VoIP.

I'm selling my VMG8324 in order to get a VMG1312 as I don't need the better Wi-Fi and the VMG1312 is a much more compact device.

I'm selling my VMG8324 . . .

Just a quick note to remind all of our members of the Broadband Hardware Swap Shop, with the sub-heading of "Broadband hardware wanted or for sale. - Reg members only."

For clarity I will quote, verbatim, the Important notice - Please read before posting that Kitz has made regarding that section --

Quote from: Kitz
This section is for members to sell or request broadband related hardware.
To be able to start a post in this section you must be of 'member status' with more than 20 non spammy posts.

I've set this section up after several requests and only after careful consideration. It will be run as a trial and a service for our reg members.   If this section gets abused then it will be closed.

It is specifically for modems, routers, switch, & telephony related items but excluding mobile phones.
It is not intended as a full classified service for retailers, nor to be used by those that may routinely sell such items on auction sites.
However we recognise that certain modems/routers may be hard to source and others may have spare kit lying around in need of a new home.

kitz.co.uk does not endorse any product advertised and any transaction entered is solely between the vendor and purchaser.
We will not be responsible for, nor get involved in disputes between two parties.  Items bought or sold are at your own risk.
