Anyone with a Zyxel router and on MWDS
« on: June 30, 2017, 11:08:53 PM »

I have just purchased a ZyXEL VMG1312-B10A from Ebay configured for Zen so will have to factory reset it for my TTB/Uno line. But was wondering if anyone is using the above or similar ZyXel model that has MWDS running to I can compare with my TP-Link TD-W9970 graphs on MWDS.

Cheers

I have just purchased a ZyXEL VMG1312-B10A from Ebay configured for Zen . . .

I thought Zen supplied the ZyXEL VMG1312-B10D . . .  they certainly did so when I purchased the one that I am using.

I know that A&A supply the ZyXEL VMG1312-B10A.

When it is delivered, your first task should be to clear the ROM-D and then install the latest firmware image.

It is according to the Ebay description a ZyXEL VMG1312-B10D from Zen. I have just downloaded the latest firmware from the ZyXel site. Is it easy to put into bridge mode as looking at the Manual I cannot see any obvious way. Still studying though.

Hopefully it is a ZyXEL VMG1312-B10D as I believe that to be the better of the 2 models. Someone can correct me if I got that the wrong way round.

Found this https://support.zen.co.uk/kb/Knowledgebase/ZyXEL-VMG1312-VMG8924-Bridge-Mode while browsing now all I need to know is if you can change the router IP for stats collection.

Edit: Found it in the manual, LAN IP setting looks pretty straight forward. Now just to wait for delivery.

I was under the impression the B10D was the budget Chipset and the B10A is the more powerfull chipset, yep it's got a third 3 meaning budget BCM 63381

The third digit, when set to 3 (like in BCM6335, BCM6338) denotes a single-chip and cost-reduction oriented design

All I know is that the -B10A is the earlier device and the -B10D is the more recent device.

I'll ask my VMG1312-B10D to disclose its SoC --

Hence my query.  :)

It is in fact described as a B10D on the Ebay listing my first post is incorrect. :D

Thought I would send that command to the 8800NL R1 and BogoMips are way lower than the B10D unless it's CPU is running in idle mode or the B10D CPU is being overclocked :-\

I'm offline at the moment after disabling MDWS upload during the recent issues and then going off on holiday without the means to re-enable. I found the 10A better than the 10D on my lines.
