Yes, I've checked that option out, and it should work fine. It's not quite right, but I don't think you'll see any problems. I hope to make available a proper solution in a day or so.

None of this applies to the Linux / Raspberry Pi versions, by the way.

Good work Eric. I am still using V5.9 and holding off on the fix mentioned in this thread although its always good to have another way.

Eric, given the MDWS issues, I have an idea, I dont know if you can take on board, but it would reduce stress on tony's servers and possibly help this issue as well.

My idea is that dslstats first checks if MDWS is online with a simple basic check, if its not then it wont attempt to upload anything, and also will wait 5 minutes before checking again. :)

What do you think?

Eric

You could use the upload validation check to do that, it takes few resources and is very fast...

What Tony says is right. I'm going to release a version which fixes the current problems with the Windows version, hopefully tomorrow, then I'll get working on Chrys's suggestion.

Eric I thought that since upload16.exe works in 5.9.5 I'd try that version in 6.0.0 but it still fails, despite it working OK in 5.9.5 or at least seems to.

The upload16.exe in v5.9.5 is the same file as the one in v6.0. I didn't rebuild it, I just copied the executable over. When I change the upload program I change its number, and DSLstats is changed to look for the new version.

Then I am puzzled as to why it works in conjunction with 5.9.5 with no issues, does this mean the problem is in the main file and not upload16.exe?

In changing from v5.9.5 to v6.0 I made a change to the way the upload program is launched. That may explain the difference.

Windows 10 Pro x64, clean install. Was hanging during sampling with not responding message when MDWS uploads were enabled. Renaming an archived copy of upload15.exe to upload16.exe and replacing said file corrects this.

Apart from that small issue (now corrected) DslStats 6.0 is running perfectly, and your work is greatly appreciated here!

I've now uploaded v6.0.2 for Windows only. This fixes the "not responding" error in the Windows version. If you're already using a renamed upload15.exe with v6.0.1 it's probably not worth upgrading to v6.0.2 at this point. This new version uses upload17.exe which will be the standard upload program from now on.

I've just installed 6.0.2 on my W7 system and will see how it goes.
